In absence:

Linda Kamzelski
invited guest Steve Worth
one other programmer from N. Allegheny

The discussion centered around the following three items:

  1. Finalization of collecting data from the Internet night
  2. Discussion of structure for email accounts
  3. Discussion of MAC support person for our PC support team
Dr. Becich requested all of the additional handouts from the Internet night be provided, and he received them from Amy Gretch and Barbara Schmid. Those still missing include: Dr. Becich's two handouts, Dave Edmunds overheads In addition, we have received more feedback about the Internet night, and it was all very positive. There is another group of parents at Marshall Middle school that are interested in mirroring our project, and we have added their names to our mailing list.

The group discussed at length the frontals and format for providing email accounts to the teachers and the classrooms at Bradford Woods Elementary and the following decisions were made: each teacher and administrator will have a separate email account that Nauticom will provide service on. This will number approximately 60 individuals. In addition, each individual classroom will have a classroom email account which will be housed on the PC device in the classroom. This will require another 35 email accounts. Mark Steward has agreed to provide these accounts (see minutes from Aptil 1st meeting for further details). We will need the following bits of information on each of these accounts to set them up: last name, first name, address, Social Security Number, mother's maiden name. In addition, for each of the classroom accounts we will have to think of something creative for each classroom for the folks can use for identification purposes. In addition, the discussion of dial-in accounts was encountered and Ron Perry voiced the need for email contact. Dr. Becich agreed to pay for his account through his DFD Information Services Group, and Dr. Becich will setup Dr. Perry's account through his DFD Information Services Nauticom Corporate account. Dial-in access is an issue that will need to be discussed further as the primary goal should be first to provide classroom connectivity at Bradford Woods Elementary.

Miscellaneous items - Dr. Becich requested additional justification related to the "green house" project and Ron Perry provided an updated diagram. In addition, Ron Perry provided additional text for the budget describing the technology research association in the library a resource associate in clerical help. Additional description of each of the hardware and software needs of the project needs to be also detailed.

Finally, the following items need to be included in the project budget. A line item for hardware should be $349/user for dial-in access for up to 100 accounts for the teacher's at Bradford Woods Elementary.

Provide a breakdown of the charges for Internet security software and also add charges for a WWW server.
