The discussion centered around the following items:
- Barbara Schmid and Ron Perry met with Dr. Bozzomo. Dr. Bozzomo informed them that he would like to use Bradford Woods as a model for the
districts's elementary school internet labs.
- A mini repeater hub is still needed for 1C, kindergartens and GOAL room. The general cost would be approximately $150/room. Wiring would be done according to the district's specifications. We need to check with Linda Kamzelski about funding. There is a hub available in the district that we can probably have at no cost. We will also check with Linda to see if we can use any funds from the Foundation for Excellence. The following is a list of rooms that has not been wired at Bradford Woods: Learning Support, Music, Reading Lab, Large Group Instruction room, office, large supply room and the publishing center.
- Blocking software is needed for the computers at BW. A suggestion was made to install blocking software. We must first check with Micrograms for the following: memory requirements, prices, software availability. Barb Schmid is also checking software options.
- Dr. Becich has personally guaranteed payment of the T1 lines through August. The fund raising project is continuing.
- We now qualify for a 20% discount on our E-rate. North Pittsburgh will be contacted about a T1 discount.
- A district web page is being established. Jim Rinehart is checking for possible sponsors.
- A consideration is being made for our web page sponsors to be recognized at a school board meeting.
- Barbara Schmid has been selected as a finalist for the Thanks for Teachers Campaign.
- The Bradford Woods staff would like to have an in service for designing their own web pages. The in service would take place in June or August. Mike Becich will look into setting this up with Dan Boylin and Mike Sendeck.
- We are looking for further fund raising in order to purchase projection panels and overhead projectors.
- The next meeting is scheduled for Friday,May 22, 1998.
